Wieliczka Salt Mine, Poland, Eastern Europe and Russia

Mine allegedly in use since the Wieliczka castle was built, circa 13th century. Orthogonally shaped walls, some signs of ancient machine use and thoughtful masonry. It's been used throughout the centuries by many people and nowadays is part of the UNESCO world heritage as the "Wieliczka and Bochnia Royal Salt Mines". Even if it's not that mysterious or technologically demanding due to the partial softness of salt rock deposits, it bears certain unique features on its walls.
